Heading off from the Grand Site, this footpath winding its way through the Orgnac woods lets you take a time-out in this preserved natural setting with its scrubland look... The walk, split into two circular routes each lasting 30 minutes or 1 hour, gives you the chance to get to know the area's rich natural heritage as you take in the landscapes and surrounding local flora. The information boards found along the way draw your attention to a range of points of interest, bearing witness to the geological, karstological and human history of the Ronze plateau.
The Maubois footpath is suitable for all: it's easily accessible from the car park and relatively flat. A free leaflet (in French) available on request from the Grand Site information desk will guide you all the way round.
Picnic and play areas
A picnic area has been set up in the shade of the evergreen oaks and a children's play area can be found nearby for your comfort.
Geological exhibition area
Located between the information desk and the cave entrance, information boards and scale models teach you about how caves formed in the region, marked by the gorges of both the Ardèche and Cèze rivers.
